  1. I really enjoyed Mrs. Stubbfield's presentation! She used to teacher where i went to school at, therefore i know her personality and how she works. She was full of energy and actually touched upon a lot of different things that will be useful later on.

Yes i will probably use A Place Of Your Own! It offers helpful parenting tips, and because am a single parent, i feel that it could be very useful. Not only that, but it will also help me show parents when i become a teacher, how to benefit themselves as well.

  2. I enjoyed her presentation very much. It is good to know that their is someone in the community that we can call upon to do guest presentations that will augment the lessons we are teaching in the classroom. I think I will use the service that KEDT offers in which they will burn a DVD of a program for you. They have so many excellent nature programs that will be fascinating for students to watch and respond to through writing and art. I will definitely use that service in the future.

  3. I was very surprised that KEDT offered services like this. I have always trusted PBS broadcasting to show things that my children can watch, but I was especially impressed with the seminars that she does for teachers and students, at the simple drop of a request.
I plan on using some of the resources for my own children, but I would like to borrow copies of certain tapes as they pertain to my lesson plans. I like that it will search and match your lessons up to programming that has been used.
I myself have already gone in and explored more of the KEDT education sight since the presentation Ms. Stubblefield gave.

  4. I was very surprised to see the amount of resources made available to us through KEDT! I really enjoyed her presentation, she was a funny lady! Of course we teachers love our freebies, so that was also definitely a plus. :) It was nice to have "hand-outs" to be able to refer back to.

I will absolutely be using the pbs.org/teachers site. I like how you can pick a grade and then a subject to get ideas for your classroom. There are even lesson plans you can print out to try and incorporate into your activities. There is also kedtkids.org/educators for us as well.

I would probably make a list of a few of the websites available to the students for the parents so that they can interact with them on some of the lessons :)

  6. The KEDT presentation was definitely informative and overall, I did enjoy the presentation. I was impressed with their services (CDs, library of videos, etc.) and their accessibility. I was, more than anything, surprised to learn of these resources as I had no idea that they existed. I will definitely utilize it's tools and ideas, not only as a future teacher, but as a current student. There are great ideas for projects, etc.

As anyone would, I thoroughly enjoyed the free handouts!

  7. I thought that Mrs. Stubblefield gave a great and informative presentation. I attended a KEDT workshop years ago and I was familiar with their services of lending videos to teachers and giving books to children. However, the presentor at that time was not as excited about the material she was presenting as was Mrs. Stubblefield and it did not leave me wanting to use their services or even look into their website. After her presentation, I went home and searched through the website and found lots of resources that I could use for lesson planning and fun activities to go along with the lessons.

  8. I enjoyed Mrs. Stubblefield's presentation because she was very energetic about the topic. It was informative not only about elementary education but about secondary education as well. I liked this in particular because I want to teach secondary education.

I would use some of the resources that Mrs. Stubblefield informed us about. I especially liked the online lesson plans which gave a detailed description of the lesson and how to incorporate different technology to keep the students interested in learning. Overall the presentation provided me with some new resources I could eventually use in my career.

I did not realize how much PBS.org had to offer for teachers and am very glad that I was informed about it. This website will be very helpful in the future and even know, it gives some wonderful ideas to help teachers
incorporate media into their lesson plans. It also gives very detailed lesson plans for
    teachers.

I also thought it was great how Ms. Stubbfield would go to schools and make presentations on whatever topic the teacher would like. She will be a great resource for the future.

  14. 1) What was your overall reaction to Ms. Stubblefield's presentation? Reading my other classmates responses and looking at the websites I found that the information giveng by Ms. Stubblefield was very informative and can be useful in the classroom.

    2) Do you think you'll use any of the other resources she described. Explain and be specific, please. The PBS Teacher Line website has so many resources for teachers to futher their professional skills. KEDT has resources for parents on how to read to a child, gives links for recommened books, and that kids can learn to read from T.V., KEDT also has curriculum for teachers, tips and tools, and professional development for early literacy skills. Something that I found very interesting was that there was a link for lesson ideas for deaf students. Since this is my passion to teach deaf students I excited to find this link and will plan to use it in the future.
